As a result of our consistent growth and prosperity, we have an exciting opportunity for a results driven Senior Project Manager who is committed to owning results. The position resides within the Information Technology division of M&T Bank.
OVERVIEW of KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for leading enterprise-wide technology initiatives, creating partnerships with management, peers, vendors, internal clients, as well as mentoring junior associates.

- Demonstrated superior communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- The ability to proactively identify and resolve barriers to success
- The ability to create and sustain positive and collaborative partnerships with internal clients and vendors to understand requirements, inherent risks, and key processes
- Effectively communicate and partner with vendors, senior level management, internal product owners, and technology team members throughout the information technology organization
- Lead matrixed project teams to drive meaningful results by developing technical project plans, creating appropriate documentation, forecasts, and financial estimates as well as successful implementation of the developed plan
- Solid problem solving skills, including trouble shooting complex problems, defining resolutions and facilitating discussions necessary to define the steps necessary to implement the associated resolutions
- Direct and mentor junior resources
- Evaluate and understand highly complex interrelationships and effects among software and hardware systems
- Create and manage to financial forecasts
- Recommend new technologies, direction, policies, or processes that will benefit the organization
- A change agent who can lead process improvement teams and champion important organizational changes
- Adaptability, demonstrating the ability to adjust to shifting priorities in a diverse, fluid, technical environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, presentation, written and verbal skills
- Minimum Bachelors degree
- Ability to effectively interact with various levels of people including junior associates, management, vendors, engineers and business people
- Minimum five years proven progressive project experience
- An understanding of portfolio management
- An understanding of various project life cycle methodologies
- Proven ability to multi-task and work within challenging timeframes
- Working knowledge of technology including hardware and software
- Demonstrated expert analysis and resolution capabilities for complex technical and logistical problem resolution
- Ability to successfully lead or actively participate in technical planning discussions
- Ability to travel (less than 10%)
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA preferred
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Project Management methodology certification preferred, although not required
