Hanover Research - Desktop Support Specialist (Tier II)

Hanover Research is actively seeking a self-motivated and competent individual for a full-time Desktop Support Specialist position. The Desktop Support Tier II will assist the System Admin. in providing technical support to Hanover Research in the areas of desktop equipment, including system configuration, troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring, etc. 

Hanover is a fast-paced, rapidly growing firm. The successful candidate will be able to think on their feet, respond well to constant change, and perform under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude at all times. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The candidate will possess knowledge of troubleshooting internal technical infrastructure, including but not limited to, Microsoft environment (Windows 7, Office 2007 & 2010), networking, printing, wireless and audio visual technologies. 
  • The candidate will assist the System Administrators in testing software and hardware deployments, in addition to providing support during periodically scheduled network and server maintenance. 
  • He/She will record appropriate resolution information in troubleshooting PC hardware and software problems and will demonstrate appropriate, on-going communication of issue status and customer follow through. 
  • The candidate will ensure the timely resolution/referral of user problems by documenting the impact to the user and by assigning an appropriate priority and resolution goal. 
  • They will deploy new software/hardware and procedures that are thoroughly tested and fully operational. He/She will assist in training peers and users on software, hardware and IT procedures.

Requirements:
  • 2-5 Years of experience; 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively. Must be a highly-motivated, self-starter. 

Minimum Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred in IT, IS, CS or related technical discipline) 
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE/MCITP, or CCNA preferred, but not required.
