In 2005 PT. Sinar Mas Multiartha, Inc. which is a Business Group Sinarmas under the Financial Services business group to take over PT. Shinta Bank Indonesia which was established in 1989 which started its operation since March 1990. PT. Shinta Bank Indonesia to change its name to Bank Sinarmas in December 2006.
As an attempt to meet the directives Bank Indonesia namely in order bank-public banks soon become company Go Public so that partly its shares can be owned by the general public, then the in the year 2010 after get the effective statement from authority who authorized, exactly on the date December 13 Bank Sinarmas recorded a of shares its inaugural Indonesia Stock Exchange thus increasing the capital structure of Rp. 160 billion, from previously Rp. 568 billion to Rp. 728 billion.
Public interest to have a high enough Sinarmas Bank Shares, this is due to encouraging business growth and significant enough, it can be seen in total assets at the end of December 2010 of 11.2 trillion, the network grew to 110 offices scattered about in the Office all provinces in Indonesia and has been linked in real time on-line banking and information technology that has been achieved.
