JOB SUMMARY:
Receives minimal supervision. Has overall responsibility for reviewing, creating, modifying, and/or developing advanced systems administration procedures and practices. Recommends new standards and policies that will best meet current and future business needs. Trains end-users, provides guidance, and proposes new technical solutions on advanced systems issues. Researches and evaluates systems equipment and software for purchase and/or modification. Typically works under normal office conditions where required to sit for extended periods of time. Regularly spends significant amounts of time working in front of computer terminal.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Reviews, creates, modifies, and/or develops basic and advanced systems administration procedures relative to Microsoft Exchange and Citrix environments. Responsible for ensuring that systems best meet current and future business design, reliability and security needs.
- Trains end-users and technical staff and provides guidance on advanced systems issues. Analyzes complex business requirements and provides various alternatives that best meet needs.
- Provides guidance and technical support to department members related to prioritizing, project development, research, testing, monitoring and problem resolution. Recommends and implements new systems and develops and maintains policies as required to meet current and future business requirements.
- As a result of general business needs, researches and evaluates systems equipment and software and proposes solutions to problems and/or enhancements to overall systems.
- Maintains contact with outside organizations for maintenance and service of the network/ system.
- Presents technical program alternatives to senior and executive level staff. Resolves key technical issues with senior level staff.
- Keeps abreast of innovation in state of the art systems techniques. Attends/ participates at technical conferences.
- Performs related work as assigned, off hours as needed.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Requires broad knowledge of advanced computer technology, equipment, operating systems and systems design as typically would be obtained through a Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- 7 plus years of Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange and Citrix experience is required. NetBackup, Office Communications Server and/or Lync server experience a plus.
- Needs to be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or have equivalent training and experience.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal skills and project management experience are required to effectively deliver technical solutions and information to individuals inside and/or outside the company.
- Needs to be able to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and dependability.
- Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.
