IT Support Technician
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Department: Information Technology
Pay Type: Exempt – Not eligible for overtime pay
Summary Statement
- The IT Support Analyst will work to support end users, hardware, and organizational software making sure that all programs and systems are compliant with the IT policies and procedures.
Job Duties
- Purchase, set up, and support end-user hardware and software
- Install and support a variety of software applications including Lotus Notes 8.5, Windows, MS Office, AutoCAD, and other programs.
- Implement security software and hardware including firewall, anti-virus, and service packs
- Evaluates user needs and system functionality and ensures all needs are met
- Monitor and support SAP ERP functions of manufacturing plant with business process re-engineering
- Plans, develops, and implements systems within budget
- Obtains competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness
- Schedule upgrades and security backups for hardware and software systems
- Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to
- Ensuring the security of data from internal & external attack
- Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products
- Create and maintain database documentation and programming for automation of tasks or jobs
- • Security design, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance including administration of user accounts
- • Performance tuning and monitoring of system along with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues
- Enhance functionalities of existing application in line with changing business needs
- Other unlisted activities will be assigned
Experiential Requirements
- Experience working with Lotus Notes and Domino Server
- At least two (2) years of IT experience and responsibilities preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of SAP, SQL, PL / SQL, CLI, clustering technology and third-party backup tools like Tivoli
Educational, Professional, and Technical Requirements
- Preference to those with computer certifications such as Comptia, Network+, A+
- Computer literacy, particularly in accounting software, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, SAP, and shop floor control systems
- Exceptional collaboration skills along with communication, problem solving and analytical skills
Physical Requirements of the Job
- Regularly required to sit, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility
- Ability to read and write English fluently with demonstrated proficiency in grammar
Work Environment
- Works in an office and manufacturing environment
- Exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise
