Location: United States - VA - Arlington
Seeking a Web Application/Systems Administrator to join our Cloud Operations Team. You will have an integral part in the management of customers, products and services into our Production Data centers and ensuring superior service delivery to our customers.
The person applying for the role of Web Application/Systems Administrator is expected to configure, tune, monitor and troubleshoot application and web servers as well as the Java applications running on them. You will also be expected to engage in day to day responsibilities, activities and environmental improvements within the Cloud Environment. This individual is a creative quick thinker and able to identify solutions as well as socialize them out to the rest of the team.
Job Duties include:
- System Management of all SaaS web applications
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of these environments (i.e. memory, disk space, availability, etc.)
- Collaboration with the other system, database, network and infrastructure administrators in the Cloud Operations group toward maintaining the SaaS applications
- Collaborating with Development Teams to identify issues, trends and requirements necessary to support the SaaS Product
- Researching, evaluating, installing, creating and configuring new tools and processes
- Tomcat/JBoss Application and Apache Web server installation, maintenance and issue triage
- Support of the Application/Server environment
- Maintaining and managing system security policy
- Create/Modify technical process documentation
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
- 1 - 3 years Unix/Linux system administration and J2EE application experience
- Expert Level Experience with Tomcat, JBoss and Apache
- Relevant Industry Certifications a plus (RHCE, VCP, SCSA, CCNA, JNCIA-FWV)
- Experience with Oracle 10g-11g a plus
- Experience with shell scripting
- Java/J2EE Development skills a huge plus
- Performance analysis and tuning
- Strong problem solving skills
- Works effectively with a minimum of direction
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to handle firecall duties
- Must be able to qualify for/obtain a US government Confidential/Public Trust clearance
