OVERVIEW This position is located in the Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs (NREA) Branch, Facilities Division, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia. The primary purpose of this position is to perform office automation work. As the prinicple administrative assistant to the Head and Deputy, NREA Branch the incument will perform clerical support to ensure efficient office operations. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 
  • You must be a US Citizen. 
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. 
  • Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. 
  • Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. 
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. 
  • Must be a qualified typist. 


DUTIES:
  • Complete a variety of organizational, clerical, and administrative functions using judgement in answering recurring and unusual questions and resolve minor or significant problems. 
  • Review incoming correspondence and determine the required action and priority. 
  • Utilize procedures accessing data in different software applications and systems necessary to complete assigned dutes. 
  • Ensure environmental compliance, natural resouces management and military facility staffing procedures to accomplish such tasks as locating and summarizing material and filing material that may be difficult to characterize. 


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 
  • Ensure environmental compliance, natural resouces management and military facility staffing procedures to accomplish such tasks as locating and summarizing material, filing material that may be difficult to characterize. 
  • Utilize administrative manuals, clerical rules, practices and procedures applicable to the processing of forms and requests to support various office tasks. 
  • Follow procedures for accessing data in different software applications and systems necessary for completing assigned duties.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : 
  • Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: 4 years above high school. This education must be obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
