The Position
We are looking for an experienced software engineer for development of medical device software associated with the operation of IVD diagnostic tests running on automated systems. This highly motivated person will join our calculation package development team responsible for development of assay specific evaluation software that is based on an internally developed software platform. Experience with FDA regulated software development and design control is desired.
In this position you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Analysis and refinement of technical requirements
- Design of software within the constraints of a software platform
- Implementation and unit testing of software
- Creation of the necessary design documentation
- Conducting and participating in code reviews
- Independent clarification of interfaces with other teams and departments
- Assist in supporting developed products after approval, through the entire lifecycle of the device

For this diverse and challenging position, you will have the following qualifications:
- University degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Typically 5+ years of relevant practical experience developing software in an industrial environment
- Experience in iterative/agile development methodologies (RUP, Scrum, Test Driven Development)
- Experience in object oriented software development including unit testing and the usage of UML, experience in implementation of data analysis modules and algorithms
- Dynamic personality with high communication skills and a proactive approach regarding work
- Excellent communication skills and command of written and spoken English. Fluency in German is beneficial.
- Experience in requirements engineering and working in a regulated environment is highly desired
