The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.

DUTIES:
DUTIES: As a Mission Assurance Program Manager, PD# U8359, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- The incumbent develops policies, procedures and technical aspects for the efficient operation of the DLA Enterprise Continuity of Operations (COOP) program and DLA Critical Infrastructure Protection. Reviews, studies and interprets DoD and other Federal Government agency policies, procedures and regulations for their impact on DLA's continuity planning and DLA critical infrastructure functions. Incumbent must maintain knowledge of continuity operations and critical infrastructure to stay abreast of the latest guidance, direction, and industry standards by networking with appropriate professional organizations and maintaining appropriate certifications.
- Responsible for providing oversight and expert technical authority to direct the design, development, execution, and promulgation of DLA's COOP planning and DLA DCIP assurance matters for worldwide support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), Unified and Specified Commands, and the Military Services' contingency planning operation. Ensures Enterprise receives appropriate training and support to maintain functional and effective continuity plans. Incumbent ensures that plans are exercised on a regular basis. Coordinates DLA participation in higher-level DoD and/or agency contingency planning exercises.
- Serves as an advisor and consultant to DLA leadership regarding continuity planning and critical infrastructure, ensuring DLA's continuity planning and critical infrastructure efforts fully support DLA's stakeholders and customers. Establishes and maintains contacts and makes formal presentations and recommendations to all counterparts and leadership throughout DLA and the Executive Branch, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chief of Staff, Military Services, Unified and Specified Commands, Defense Agencies, Federal and State civilian agencies, DoD Contractors, professional organizations, and the private sector.
- This is a supervisory position; candidates must have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish the strategic goals and plans of the enterprise. A supervisor should have traits of leadership, positive thinking, genuine interest in people, initiative, decisiveness, tact and courtesy, fairness, integrity, teaching ability, and self-confidence. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for a Mission Assurance Program Manager, your qualifications must include:
A. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:
Exercises full responsibility and authority for managing the entire range of programs for continuity of operations plan and critical infrastructure protection
Develops policies, procedures and technical aspects for the efficient operation of the Enterprise Continuity of Operations (COOP) program and Critical Infrastructure Protection
B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
