Help Desk Administrator
The position of Help Desk Administrator supports all aspects of the company’s corporate IT environment, ensuring it functions efficiently and provides all employees with access to corporate applications and services.
Duties Include:
- Responding to and Resolving of Help Desk Tickets
- Desktop Support of MS Windows clients
- Hands-on support of an MS Windows server-based infrastructure that serves all employees with access to business applications and services; Application environment support includes but is not limited to:
- MS Windows 2008 R2
- MS Exchange 2010
- MS SharePoint 2010
- MS SQL Server 2008 R2
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation
- physically trace wall ports to patch panels to switch boardsconnect workstations, printers and servers to wall ports
- Configure enterprise switch interfaces: VLANS, admin shut/no shut, speed/duplex, descriptions
- Configure workstations and servers for IPv4 and IPv6 networking
- Trouble shoot enterprise network issues using ping, traceroute, and the NMS
Required Skills:
- 3+ years working as a PC desktop technician in a MS Windows environment
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Windows 7/Vista/XP
- Strong Customer Service work ethic
- Enterprise-level networking knowledge
- Ability to learn quickly
- Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 40 to 50 pounds of equipment
Desired Skills
- Linux installation and desktop support
- Mac OS X installation and desktop support
- Experience developing system images for desktop deployment
